Chayote is going good this year. The white ones seem especially
good to eat and any leftover vines or squash go to chickens.
I was talking to someone who had been into the back of Waipio Valley recently.
He said the Chayote was growing back there a little bit about a year ago, but now covers two acres !
So be careful where you plant it and where you let it spread .
Got a nearby vacant lot ? Do some guerilla gardening with Chayote and pinto beans.
If we have enough rain it should all grow and spread.
