OK   I have a few Buffy babies hatching . I am going to try the honey on them
today. I will report results.  Hopefully it will cut down on the early loss
of chicks.

Do you think the honey thing would work on ducks?  Faster little flappy feet and more beeping?

Well honey fed Buffies at 8 days have all their wing feathers and look like they are on steroids.  Same with the ducks but ducks are weird anyway.
They are so much smarter than chicks  and create at least 4 times as much fertilizer.

I thought it seems that they grew faster, but I've only raised a handful of broods. Are you in agreement that it seems to give them a kick?

Yes . I had one chick that was looking kind of weak when it hatched
but after some honey treatment it perked up.  Also they seem to start getting feathers a little early.
I hatched two ducklings, both seemed weak but perked up with the honey.
Also noticed all the birds seemed to drink more water when the honey was in it.
Perhaps they are getting a lot of extra calories as well as the benefit of the honey.

One troublesome thing I am noticing is the hatch rate is down radically.

Also
I used to raise and sell a small purebred type of dog. I have cut back a lot since the economy is tanking. BUT this last year I have had all kinds of birthing  problems and
lost two litters. Both females have been neutered . Now my new female is not getting pregnant.

Anyone else having breeding problems with birds or animals?

Seed germination seems down also.
